Your Northern Ireland Doula

I’m Anne, an experienced birth & postnatal doula.

There’s no greater pleasure than to be part of your birthing journey, as you welcome your precious baby into your family. I love working with families and will continue to learn and gain valuable experience with every family I support.

I trained in June 2015 and I am registered as a birth and postnatal doula with Doula UK. I’ve been teaching HypnoBirthing since 2017 with fantastic results!

More about me

Family life is and always has been very important to me. My interest in birth and babies stems from my own experience as a mother of 3, childminding, leading Mother and Toddler groups and creches. Since being a birth partner for my sister, I feel passionate about supporting your pregnancy journey to achieve the kind of birth experience you desire, whatever that might be. It has been my personal experiences and my passion that have drawn me to birth and post natal support for families.

My role as your doula is to support you practically and emotionally during one of the most life-changing and preciousexperiences in your life.

Memories of birthing your baby will stay with you forever and that is why it is so important to have a satisfying and positive birth experience.

As your doula, I will help you to prepare for the birth, empoweryou tomake informed decisions, discuss your expectations and your parenting preferences.

I abide by Doula UK’s Philosophy and Code of Conduct. I am also trained as a Family Support Volunteer with TinyLife and I have a successful Enhanced NI Check. I am a volunteer for AIMS and member of Birthrights. I am also the area representative and doula mentor for Doula UK.

I contacted Anne early in my pregnancy and she provided me with so much support and guidance all the way through. She always listened to my concerns and happily discussed all my options and fully supported any decisions I made.   Anne was invaluable during my birth, she helped me…

Our third birth has been quite the ride, with a pregnancy through Covid, online zoom HypnoBirthing, to an induced hospital birth and emergency delivery! We know for certain we wouldn’t have got through it all as well without your influence, guidance, knowledge and presence… We are very grateful.  The involvement…

I think that especially in Northern Ireland the conversation is more likely to be ‘have you thought about having a doula?’ as many people are still not familiar with the idea and the associated benefits. I would strongly encourage anyone to have a doula involved in their birth. I think…

Anne was my Doula and hypnobirthing teacher for my first pregnancy and she was an absolute god-send. She is the most calming, patient, knowledgeable and grounding person, and is just an incredible advocate for women and their birth preferences. She made me feel really empowered and safe during what was…

Anne visited me a couple of times, always taking her time to listen and getting to know my expectations.  She was very understanding with regards to my first experience at childbirth.  All I wanted was to have someone listening to my fears and wishes.  Anne was creative and supportive throughout…

The worst thing about using a doula for the birth of my second child was that I was cross with myself for not doing it the first time around. During and following the birth of my first son I felt lost; decisions  were made that I later regretted. I felt…

Anne was very friendly, open and down to earth, and easy to talk to. Anne was organised and very knowledgeable, bringing information to me as discussed. Anne was supportive to my situation and open to changes.

Anne is much more than a doula. Anne provided me with postnatal support that I literally could not have done without. From the very first days and weeks she was one of the only people I could really relax with and felt secure enough to leave the baby with in…

After much searching and reflecting, I met with Anne, a Doula whose patience and a passionate interest, support and experience in the wellbeing of women before, during and after childbirth meant I felt connected from the word go during our initial meeting during the latter part of my second trimester.…
