My name is Anne Glover and I am an experienced doula working in Northern Ireland. I trained with Nurturing Birth in June 2015 and I am registered as a birth and postnatal doula with Doula UK. I’ve been teaching HypnoBirthing since 2017 with fantastic results! There’s no greater pleasure than to be part of your birthing journey, as you welcome your precious baby into your family. I love working with families and will continue to learn and gain valuable experience with every woman and pregnant person I support.
Family life is and always has been very important to me. My interest in birth and babies stems from my own experience as a mother of 3, childminding, leading Mother and Toddler groups and creches. Since being a birth partner for my sister, I feel passionate about supporting pregnant people to achieve the kind of birth experience they desire, whatever that might be. It has been my personal experiences and my passion that have drawn me to birth and post natal support for pregnant people and their partners.
My role as your doula is to support you practically and emotionally during one of the most life-changing and precious experiences in your life. Memories of birthing your baby will stay with you forever and that is why it is so important to have a satisfying and positive birth experience. As your doula, I will help you to prepare for the birth, empower you to make informed decisions, discuss your expectations and your parenting preferences.
I abide by Doula UK’s Philosophy and Code of Practice, as well as the Nurturing Birth’s Code of Practice. I am also trained as a Family Support Volunteer with TinyLife and I have a successful Enhanced NI Check. I am a volunteer for AIMS and member of Birthrights. I am also the area representative and doula mentor for Doula UK.
I’m also delighted to offer the hire of a birthing pool, a cub birthing stool and a TENS machine as part of my services.
I have gained invaluable experience supporting over 150 families including:
- Natural birth (home and hospital)
- Water birth (home and hospital)
- VBAC and HBAC
- IVF pregnancies
- Caesarean births (urgent and elective)
- Medicalised births
