Your Northern Ireland Doula

I’m Anne, an experienced birth & postnatal doula.

There’s no greater pleasure than to be part of your birthing journey, as you welcome your precious baby into your family. I love working with families and will continue to learn and gain valuable experience with every family I support.

I trained in June 2015 and I am registered as a birth and postnatal doula with Doula UK. I’ve been teaching HypnoBirthing since 2017 with fantastic results!

More about me

Family life is and always has been very important to me. My interest in birth and babies stems from my own experience as a mother of 3, childminding, leading Mother and Toddler groups and creches. Since being a birth partner for my sister, I feel passionate about supporting your pregnancy journey to achieve the kind of birth experience you desire, whatever that might be. It has been my personal experiences and my passion that have drawn me to birth and post natal support for families.

My role as your doula is to support you practically and emotionally during one of the most life-changing and preciousexperiences in your life.

Memories of birthing your baby will stay with you forever and that is why it is so important to have a satisfying and positive birth experience.

As your doula, I will help you to prepare for the birth, empoweryou tomake informed decisions, discuss your expectations and your parenting preferences.

You can find out more about the servicesI currently offer.

In 2020 I co-founded the first Doula Collective in Northern Ireland with Sara Benetti to provide a dedicated, individualised service for you! We offer a variety of packages to suit your requirements, hire birthing equipment with any profits going to local charities to support positive birthing experiences and are launching the first ever Northern Ireland based doula training!

I abide by Doula UK’s Philosophy and Code of Conduct. I am also trained as a Family Support Volunteer with TinyLife and I have a successful Enhanced NI Check. I am a volunteer for AIMS and member of Birthrights. I am also the area representative and doula mentor for Doula UK.

I’m also delighted to offer the hire of a birthing pool, a cub birthing stool, TENS machine and Birth Sling as part of my services.

The worst thing about using a doula for the birth of my second child was that I was cross with myself for not doing it the first time around. During and following the birth of my first son I felt lost; decisions  were made that I later regretted. I felt…

My husband and I signed up to complete a 5-week course focused on Hypnobirthing with Anne as she had been highly recommended to us by a few friends. We are both so glad we listened and followed through as we learnt so much as first time parents and were fully…

I was birth partner for my daughter, Rachel, who had her first baby in Belfast.  Anne’s presence made the whole experience a great joy for us both.  She greatly contributed to the calm environment during the short labour. Together with the attentive care of doctors and midwives a healthy happy boy…

Thank you for supporting us throughout our birthing journey.  It really was more amazing that I could have imagined!  You are a fantastic doula.  I hope you can continue to do the work you do, and many more babies can be born to parents with your support and expertise.

Anne was absolutely invaluable to us throughout my pregnancy. We heard about Anne through two different couples who both had home births. From the moment I got in contact with Anne I just loved her. Anne has such a calming presence and a wealth of knowledge on birthing. You can…

Fate brought Anne to us: It’s very difficult to sum up in a paragraph exactly how wonderful Anne is, not only as a doula but as a person. We were planning a home birth in water and my yoga teacher recommended Anne saying she had heard such great things about…

This was my first baby and I was very nervous of the birth. I chose to have Anne as my doula to support me throughout the pregnancy and birth and I’m really glad I did. Anne was armed with plenty of information that put my mind at ease and meant…

A friend of ours suggested that a post-natal doula might provide us with the support that we required.  She found Anne online and sent the details to Victoria.  There are currently very few doulas in Northern Ireland and so we did not interview more than one doula.  However, even if…

We are truly privileged to have Anne as our doula.  A friend had shared her own experience of using this type of support and I knew I wanted and needed the same for the birth of my daughter. Anne held a safe space where I and my husband were able…

Anne was very friendly, open and down to earth, and easy to talk to. Anne was organised and very knowledgeable, bringing information to me as discussed. Anne was supportive to my situation and open to changes.
